
2 LeT militants killed in an encounter in the area of Zakura, Srinagar.
February 5, 2022, security forces were conducting a search operation in Zakura, Srinagar, the capital of Indian Admistard Kashmir. In an encounter the two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants were killed, Police said.
Vijay Kumar; Inspector General Of Police said one of the militants killed was behind the killings of a policeman Ikhlaq Hajam in Anantnag on January 29.
The police confirmed that two pistols were recovered from the duo.
During the Soviet-Afghan war, Osama bin Ladin funded the creation of Lashkar-e-Taiba by Hafiz Saeed and other Islamist Mujahideen. It aims to merge Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan and promote the ideology of Ghazwa-e-Hind.
